At Lucky Chukar Ranch, we don’t manicure the land to make hunting easy. We leave the country the way it was meant to be—native grasses, rugged terrain, natural cover, and plenty of room for a bird dog to work.
Our hunts are designed to feel less like a preserve and more like a day chasing wild birds. With a little luck, you might just get into some too. Hungarian partridge and sharp-tailed grouse frequent the property.

The 10-Bird Chukar Hunt offers a longer, more involved day in the field at Lucky Chukar Ranch while keeping the focus on dogs, birds, and quality time outdoors. This experience is well-suited for handlers working young dogs, sharpening seasoned dogs, or simply looking for a more extended upland outing.
Each hunt includes 10 birds per shooter, providing additional opportunity for dogs to work multiple coveys, build confidence, and gain valuable experience on real game. Chukar are a true upland species found throughout Wyoming and much of the surrounding western states, making them an excellent bird for developing and testing real-world hunting skills.
This hunt is a great balance between training and recreation, offering more time afield while still maintaining a relaxed, straightforward format.

The 12-Bird Bobwhite Quail Hunt expands on the traditional quail experience at Lucky Chukar Ranch, offering more time in the field and additional opportunity to work dogs on one of the most classic upland game birds in North America.
Bobwhite quail are not found in the wild in Wyoming or the surrounding region, making this a distinctive opportunity to experience true quail hunting without leaving the area. Their fast, covey-flushing behavior provides an excellent challenge for dogs and handlers alike.
Each hunt includes 12 bobwhite quail per shooter, allowing for multiple covey contacts and extended dog work in a controlled yet natural setting. This format is ideal for reinforcing steadiness, improving handling, and building confidence through repeated bird encounters.
